KUMASI, Ghana — On Saturday, 1st August 2026, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) KNUST Student Chapter, in collaboration with THE MODELLING CLUB and IEEE Computer Society, took our annual Energy4Me outreach program to the Armed Forces Senior High Technical School, Kumasi.
This year’s theme brought together bright young minds for a day of hands-on learning and exploration into how AI is reshaping the energy sector and beyond.
Students engaged in:
- Opportunities and career paths in energy and tech
- Introduction to programming
- Virtual reality (VR) experiences
- Introduction to graphic design
The excitement on the students' faces as they explored VR headsets, learned about programming, and discovered the creative side of tech was truly inspiring.
Energy4Me continues to be one of our chapter's most impactful initiatives, igniting curiosity in STEM and showing secondary school students the vast career possibilities that lie at the intersection of energy, engineering, and technology.
A huge thank you to the Armed Forces Senior High Technical School for hosting us, and to our partners for making this outreach a success. Special appreciation to all our volunteers and facilitators who gave their time to inspire the next generation of innovators.
Here’s to raising more energy-conscious, tech-savvy leaders for tomorrow.
